Pretty interesting. LOL. In case you can't read what's on it, it says,
"
You're a Green.
You’ve got style, ’tude, and sex appeal. That’s right. You’re a sassy and stylish green. You do know what they say about the green ones, right?"

Does this explain why I loved vandalising every table & chair in my secondary school? =P

You express yourself through artistic pursuits!
Whether your preferred practice is writing, painting, or doodling, your creative outlet is grounded in the arts. Man Jailed After Daughter Fails To Get GED Last Update: 5/09 3:54 pm |
Reported by: Deb Silverman Photographed by: 9News Web produced by: Neil Relyea
A Fairfield man is in jail because his daughter hasn't gotten her General Equivalency Diploma (GED). A judge ordered the father to stay on top of his daughter's education months ago and when that order wasn't followed, Brian Gegner was sentenced to 180-days in the Butler County jail. The daughter, Brittany Gegner, says her father shouldn't be punished for her problems. Especially, she says because she's now 18, an adult. "It's ridiculously wrong," said Brittany Gegner. "Of all the punishments they could have given him, to make him go to jail?," she asked. "I mean, probation – until I get my GED – would be reasonable, but to send him to jail? That's overboard." Butler County Juvenile Court Judge David Niehaus ordered Gegner to jail for contributing to the delinquency of a minor by not following a court order which required Gegner to be sure his daughter got her GED. This comes after ongoing problems of Brittany skipping classes at Fairfield High School and then, Butler Tech. While Brian Gegner had custody of her, Brittany says it was while she lived with her mother that she was truant. "I'm about to be 19 and my Dad's being punished for something I did when I was 16," she said. "It's like I should, if anybody should be punished for this," said Brittany. "I would way rather me go to jail than my Dad." "They probably should have punished me if they were going to punish anybody," said Brittany's mother Shana Roach. "Because she did live with me at the time, but because he had the custody, that's why he's being punished." "But I don't understand the punishment all together because she's going to school, she's been going for four months," said Roach. "The only thing that's holding her back is she can't pass her math test." Brittany has a daughter who's about 18-months-old. She says she's determined to pass the GED for her daughter – and her father. The judge says if she passes the test, her father could get out of jail before his six-months sentence is up. Brittany's step-mother worries the time in jail will ruin their family. She says he could lose the job he's worked for 15-years. "I never dreamed they would put him in jail for this – for six months – it's crazy," said Stephanie Gegner, Brittany's step-mother. "He has no control over what his adult daughter does," she said. "He just doesn't." Court administrators say that even though Brittany is an adult now, the case remains active in their court because she was a juvenile when the problems started. They say this type of punishment is rare and reserved for extreme cases when court orders aren't met. |

28 Apr 2008: Am
forced to blog about this. =P
Had dinner at Sun with Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe with my Ronald Baby (RB).
*Yes I know, the RB & JB crap sounds uber disgusting. Pls feel free to puke.*
He saw my craving for Sun with Moon desserts from my blog, so he brought me to The Central's outlet. So he can see his name in my blog. So smart, baby.

My dinner: Hot soba with tempura
RB's dinner: Unagi with rice. The unagi is NICE!!
What's with the hour glass? Now here comes the stars of the night... DESSERTS!! Well according to RB, the desserts are gifts from him to me, & each item signifies something (yes yes, he wanted me to blog specifically on this)...
Dessert 1: Black Sugar Pudding
"Thank you for waiting patiently for me." --> RB arrived late coz he was held up at work.

The taste is just nice - neither too sweet nor bland.
But the cream on top is oh-so sinful & fattening.Dessert 2: Tofu Cheesecake
"Happy Secretaries' Day!!" --> I'm no longer a secretary, baby. -_-
It's served with a bird cage!!
My favourite dessert. Yummy~Dessert 3: Whiskey Bon Bon"Thank you for loving me." --> Eeerrrrrrr... I'm puking already.
White & dark chocolates with alcohol inside... And
a strawberry.Dessert 4: Sweet Box (A mixture of 4 different desserts)"Thanks for all the TLC." --> Oh well, I'm the sweeeetest. Haha!!

The Sweet Box depends largely on luck. It's like a surprise as they change the dessert combination everyday. You won't know what's inside until it arrives.
We weren't as lucky that day. Worst item among the 4 desserts. The mango pudding was tasteless, & the jelly that came with the fruits was waaaaay too sweet. And the cake & ice cream were so-so only..
Had an awfully heavy dinner... *Burp*

21 Apr 2008: This is the most hilarious event that happened in the history of Temasek Holdings. Someone actually broke his chair!!
Who's this behemothly elephantine gigantic hero in question? He's none other than the massively ponderous 89.2kg Wilson Wang.
It was 6 plus in the evening & I was preparing to go home. All of a sudden, there was a LOUD thud. It sounded as though someone had dropped something heavy onto the ground. I ignored it & just then, Wilson the drama king exclaimed, "OH SHIT.. I broke my chair!! I can't believe it. Hey guys, I broke my chair!!"
We couldn't believe our ears. How on earth did he break his chair?!! Thanks to the puissance (pun intended: the hokkien of pui, aka fat) of word-of-mouth, word spread like wild fire & everyone dropped by Wilson's workstation to shed some concern for him.
Poor me, who sits next to him. My ears had to endure the repeated outcries of, "Goodness, I don't know why I broke my chair!" or "Shit man, I've created a history in Temasek." et cetera et cetera et cetera.
Here's a showcase of the broken chair:

14 Apr 2008: Went to International Plaza & had lunch with Nette (JeaNETTE), Nie (WinNIE), Noi (Mui NOI) & Auntie Jessie. I miss miss miss them!!
So well, I took a train to Tanjong Pagar. While on the upriding escalator next to Guardian Pharmacy, one's normal action would be to look ahead. But the splendorously intellectual me stared towards the direction of the downriding escalator. Guess what, because of my brilliant "direction sense", I SAW HIM!!
Yes yes, it's HIM. The one who invoked my departure from GIC. The one who bestowed upon me a fair share of happiness & misery.
He didn't see me though. Not in my opinion at least. He seemed to be in a hurry. He was on afternoon leave, with his bag as an indication.
Why did he have to appear in my line of vision & bring back all memories & wretchedness that are uncalled for? Or rather, why did I set my focus towards that direction?
All I can utter is, blame it on my putridly rotten luck.

05 Apr 2008: Finally, the tormenting CCM paper is over. 4 little excited girls (Lindy, Qi, Ping & I) & one of the little girl's bf (Lindy's bf, Edward) went for supper straight after the paper. Little couple went off after the feast & the other 3 little girls walked to The Cathay for Ben & Jerry's.
After which, these 3 little girls loitered around the vicinity & decided to park themselves at the benches of SMU.
And chatted till dawn.....

02 Apr 2008: I've never felt such intense outrage in a coon's age!
Lindy, Ping & I are
infuriated by Marcus. Have met my fair share of free riders in project groups, but I never ever expected my long time friend to be like that. Neither did I anticipate this coming from a supposedly mature adult.
We had to hand in our CCM (cross cultural management) main assignment on 31 Mar. It was a group project, so we splitted all the work & Ping would do the compilation & editing. So, deadline for submission (to Ping) to our group email, ZQB, was 28 Mar. We arranged for a meeting on 29 Mar, a Sat afternoon, to further discuss what can be done as our parts could not really integrate well into a whole report.
So, Ping mass smsed everyone on the meeting details. NO reply from him. FINE, that wasn't the first time anyway. We weren't sure if he would turn up coz there wasn't any confirmation from him. He's working 5 1/2 days, so we fixed it in the afternoon. Partly because we wanted to zzz lah. Haha..
On the day itself, we were speculating if he would turn up as no one heard from him. He did not reply a single sms. So I decided to call him. No answer. Ng Qi called. No answer too. I decided to be a nuisance & called once again. He finally answered & told me he was on his way from office. Our discussion was held at OCBC Centre's Burger King at Raffles Place. His office was at Dhoby Ghaut. He should reach in a jiffy right?
Hell no. He took hours to reach. Ng Qi even said sarcastically,
"I wonder if his office is located in Malaysia. Even if it is, he would have reached." LOL!!
He finally strolled in & wasn't apologetic at all. Well, not like it bothered me. In the midst of our discussion, guess what, he was busying copying Lindy's lecture notes! Why? Because he was away on ICT & missed the lectures.
He wasn't participative in the discussions, & when we arrowed questions at him, he'd go,
"Huh?" His reaction seemed to say, "Well, whatever you say. Don't ask me."
Ping looked through his part, & found no citations to his tables, so yeah, he was asked to cite the source of his tables. In addition, he was asked to do the abstract & conclusion for our report. Well in my opinion, he seemed a little reluctant with a reply,
"Huh, you girls trust my English?"Precisely. That's why the abstract & conclusion, so it wouldn't affect our content much.
We decided we should all send Ping our edited parts by Sun night, 30 Mar, 10pm. Nothing from him. After numerous houndings from Qi, he finally sent in his BIBLIOGRAPHY. What do we need the biblio for? We needed his table citations, abstract & conclusion!!
It wasn't until 10+am on 31 Mar that he FINALLY sent his abstract & conclusion to ZQB. To our horror, both his abstract & conclusion were a total crap!! They were DIRECTLY copied & pasted from different parts of the report. Nevermind if he did that, but the sentences made no logical sense at all!! We could not fathom what he was trying to say. Blood was boiling...
10+am on a Monday morning. Office hours. Lindy had to edit his conclusion & I did the abstract coz if we got him to redo, god knows when he would get them done. In the midst of editing, we realised it was much easier to completely overhaul them.
We spent almost ALL of our time clearing his mess in the office. Work was neglected because of that. Luckily my boss wasn't around, else I wouldn't be able to have the "luxury" of doing my school work the whole day. Poor Ping, she had lots of work to do, yet she had to do all these shit.
After we managed to get EVERYTHING done at about 9pm, she had to stay in office just to complete her work.
Ping was so pissed that she sent this email to ZQB, as well as an exact same sms to Marcus:
"Dear Marcus,
Lindy and Jaye and me had to pia this out during work. Plz bear in mind that other pple also have jobs. Having to completely over haul your work is not our job.
And YES we are pissed at you."I salute you, Ping! Lol...
If you thought our group was the worst, allow me to show you what that childish, high-pitched & squeaky-voiced 19-year-old guy from my class wrote for his part:
"People live on this planet and they travel to work from planet to planet. The managers whose organisations with overseas subsidiaries are very stressed."PLANET TO PLANET?! Wahahaha... I almost fell off the chair upon reading it. When I showed Lindy & Ping this, they almost died laughing!!
How did I know what he wrote? Ronald was ranting to me & he was frustrated by that crap too.
Haiz, the detriments of group projects...

04 Nov 2007: Happy Belated Birthday To Me!!!
Met the girls for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe (HRC). Don't ask me why I went there all of a sudden, but I just thought I haven't been there for ages.
Ya Jing & I. Ken & Adrian said I looked super act cute
in plaids. But I thought I looked more youthful. =(Reached there, and was told by the staff that there were some problems with Visa & Mastercard network, so we could only make payments using Amex cards or cash. Which means I couldn't utilise the HSBC discount!!
Qin Ting, Amy & Shu ZhengSo the grumpy me was making lots of noise to the staff coz with the HSBC discount, we could save quite an amount on our total bill. They promised to talk to their manager & get back to me, but they never did so.
From my past experience at HRC, the serving size was so huge that 2 people could share a portion. We ordered 1 starter & 2 mains for the 5 of us and guess what, we were so full!! Here's what we ordered:
Starter: Jumbo combo
Main: Chicken chop & macaroni cheese
Main: Fish & chipsLots of variety for Jumbo Combo. Spring rolls, drumlets, potato, onion rings, breaded prawns & salad. Chicken chop + macaroni cheese was nice. But it was quite cheeesy so one could easily get sick of it. As for the fish & chips, I wouldn't say it was good. There was a strong fishy taste. Eeeewwwww..
When it was time for bill, the Visa network was up. Lucky them, else I would start making noise again. Haha..
Bad photography skills. =(

27 Oct 2007: Was tricked tricked tricked!! =P
We organised this Halloween get-together on the 27th as Halloween falls on the 31st. Little did I know that it turned out to be my birthday celebration as well. It involved a big group so we had a hard time organising. Some wanted to join for dinner, while some wanted only to chill out, and some joined for both.
Katrina & I were doing lots of sourcing & discussions for dinner & chill out places. Yanny suggested Oosh initially, but it's located at Dempsey & the others were reluctant to travel there. So well, we got some places in town.
Finally, we decided on Pasta De Waraku (cheap & good food) for dinner, then chill-out at The Loof.
While waiting for dinner to be served...
Long lost sisters?
Women In Black
Let us present The Most Compatible Couple award
to Eugenia & Adrian
The seemingly shy couple: Sim Lim & CherieAfter dinner, the waiter went to our table, stood in front of me & asked, "May I know who brought the cake here?" He spoilt the surprise intended for me!!!
Yummy durian cake from Emicakes. The durian puree
was thick & fragrant & NICE. *Slurp*
I can't wait to eat the cake!!
What are they looking at?
Where's Jiawen? She was late!!!
A punch for the birthday girl. *Ouch*
Standing (L-R): Cherie, Sheryce, Katrina, Eugenia
Sitting (L-R): Jiawen, Star of the Night, YannyGoodness... I'm so thick-skinned!! I actually called myself the Star of the Night. Hahaha..
(L-R): Sim Lim, Cleave, I, Zhicheng, Adrian
What are the guys trying to do to me?
Don't look at me. Look at the array of pastas in the background!!Walked to The Loof after we finished the cake. Adrian & Eugenia did not join us for chill out coz that zhu Adrian wanted to rest early for his New Balance Marathon the following morning. =(
The ERG 3-8s at The LoofKatrina suggested going to St James as it was quite boring at The Loof. Only Kat, Yanny, Jiawen, Rachel (Jiawen's friend from APD), Kah Hin & I went to St James. The rest stayed at Loof. Bably was at St James so we joined her.
It was just the start...
Bably & the cat woman
A group photo in PowerhouseSo mean of them!! They refused to let me go home until I get horribly drunk. We opened a bottle of Vodka with lime juice & orange juice as mixers. Our lovely Jiawen made me a Screwdriver (Vodka + orange juice) concoction specially for me. A high concentration of Vodka with little orange juice.
The rest plotted a Flaming Waterfall, Flaming Lamborghini & something else (can't remember what was it as they listed out many options) for me. First was Flaming Waterfall.
I pleaded with them, asking them not to be so cruel to me. Haha!! So Kat & Bably helped me with the Flaming Waterfall...
Sipping the Flaming Waterfall
We've completed the Flaming quest!!They wanted Flaming Lamborghini for me 20mins later. Goodness. In the meantime, Jiawen made another Screwdriver for me, this time with more alcoholic content. After that glass, crap, I felt so high!!
Bably, Rachel & Kah HinAs my friends know, I don't club coz I don't dance. But when I'm high on alcohol, I'll start grooving to the music. Yes that was exactly what I did that night. Seeing me in such a high state & I kept insisting I WAS drunk, they decided not to sabo me with Flaming Lamborghini. Phew!
Lovely Jiawen & I, with the EXTRA drinking in the background
MuackzzzzWhen we've had enough of Powerhouse, we hopped to another club which I couldn't remember what the name was. The loud music made my head spin & I couldn't take it anymore. I told Kah Hin I wanted to go home. (Yanny went off first, so she didn't send me home. Kah Hin lives really near me, so naturally, we would share a cab.)
Keng Soon sent Kah Hin & I home. On the way to Keng Soon's car, I was walking unsteadily & the 2 hunks had to ensure I wouldn't fall. I volunteered to take the back seat & once I was in the car, I slept all the way home....
KS parked in front of the rubbish dump. I still walked in a drunken state. Both of them were so afraid I would fall into the rubbish bin. Haha..
I didn't know when this picture was taken!!

23 Oct 2007: Was supposed to go Far East Square for lunch at Pizza Hut with the ERG ladies. When it was time for lunch, all of them (Ling jie, Winnie, Meilian) disappeared. I thought they were busy or in the washroom, so I waited at my desk.
Suddenly, Ling jie called my ext from the lobby, "Yin mei, this Avinash hor, brought a management here for meeting. I can't find Meilian so I received them on her behalf. But now, I'm really urgent & wanna visit the toilet. Can you help me to make a cup of coffee? They are at Metal Room. Thanks thanks."
I went to the pantry, made a cup of coffee naively & cursed Avinash for bringing management here at lunch time. By the way, Avinash is the broker from Morgan Stanley who's absolutely pesky & I really dislike him.
When I reached Metal Room...
They caught my surprised look!!
Posing with the Secret Recipe cakes. Yum yum~
Noi Noi, Nette Nette, Xiao Mei Mei, Nie NieOh yeah, what happened to the coffee? Ling jie drank it of course. Coz she was the one who used that coffee trick to make me go to the room!!
Thanks for the trick & surprise!! Hehe..

20 Oct 2007: Xiao Pang Zhu is a year older now. =P Coincidentally, his birthday falls on the same day as my dad's.
Celebrated a day earlier coz his birthday falls on a Sunday. Peiwen & Dan joined us after dinner as Dan's dad was hospitalised.
So... Met that zhu for dinner at Central Mall. Wanted to go Pasta De Waraku, which I heard is good. But the queue was super long. 11 people before us. Goodness. Ended up in this Japanese restaurant which has got no queue. Usually no queue = not nice, but heck lah, we were too hungry to even wait. Furthermore, there was 20% discount for UOB cardholders. Haha..
The deserted restaurant
The potato salad is nice!!
My all-time favourite: Salmon sashimiPeiwen & Dan met us at Central & we proceeded to Clarke Quay to chill out. Our first choice was The Clinic coz of the theme. Hospital theme. But it was full when we reached, so we went to Mama's Caribbean Bar.
Cheers to my Caribbean Queen
Wen jie & I gave the excuse of going to the washroom, & we went out searching for a cake. The nightlife of Clarke Quay was so beautiful that we were quite reluctant to go back. =P
Daniel, Wen jie, Xiao Pang Zhu & IWent to Haagen Dazs to look for a small ice cream cake. They did not have the size we wanted, but the guy was really friendly & helpful. He told us where we could get other cakes & the directions of the shops. The plus point was, he had small eyes, tall, & a warm smile. LOL!!
Finally bought the cake at Coffee Club
Ordered 1/2 dozen shots before we left Mama's
Birthday kiss? NO, let's bite his ears off!!
The Clinic
Get what I mean about the theme?Hopped to The Clinic when they finally had seats available. Very expensive drinks, though there wasn't any cover charge. We paid for the concept & the fun rather than the drinks quality. Doubt I'll ever go back again due to the pricing. Hmmm..
Wheelchair boundWe had so much fun on the wheelchairs. Haha!! Every patrons at every table were wheeling up & down in the wheelchairs.
Guess what. A group of Caucasians were seated next to our table. Of course, they were enjoying the wheelchairs as well. One of the guys stood up suddenly & exclaimed, "It's a miracle!! I am walking, I'm walking!!"
So -__________- right.
We suspected he was a gay. When that
"miracle" wheeled past Xiao Pang, he told him he was hot. OMG...
The drink's name was Sex on the Drip
Monkeying around the drip. =P
Clarke Quay at 1am. Love it!!A drama took place near us when we were about to leave. That was like 1.45am? 2 male Caucasians (yes, ang mohs again) were walking down the lanes when they suddenly pushed each other onto the ground. One of them was on top of the other, & they shouted incoherent sentences. The one on top slapped the guy below him & they continued shouting.
Nobody dared to interfere coz they seemed drunk. It was after a short while when a Caucasian couple approached them & tried to break them away.
They did not budge. The lady talked to them in a seemingly nice manner. Just before they broke away, the guy on top grabbed the other guy's crotch!! Eeeewwwwww. After which, both of them stood up & had their arms around each other's shoulders (like best buddies).
What a scene.
HELLLLLPP!!!

12 Oct 2007: I thought I would enjoy clubbing now that smoking is banned. Boy, I was wrong. I ended up in the police station instead.
The first reaction everyone (including my mum) had was, "You got into a fight?" Didn't know I look like an ah lian. Haha.. Nope, I wasn't involved in a fight. I was molested.
Went clubbing with Peiwen, her bf Daniel & his colleagues. The initial plan was St James, but they changed to Dbl O instead. I'm not into clubbing but I enjoyed myself. At about 2.30am, we were tired & decided to leave. On our way out, Dan was first, followed by Peiwen, then me. Peiwen was holding my hand as we walked out.
As we passed this table, some creep touched Peiwen's hand. After which, this same person touched my ******* ****. I thought it was accidental so I ignored it & moved away at the same time. Little did I know that he had the audacity to slide his hand to my butt & tried to grab/squeeze them. Then I realised it wasn't so innocent. I flung his arm/hand away, & glared at him.
Overwhelmed by shock, I continued making my way out. When I regained my composure, I turned to Peiwen.
Me: Wen jie, a guy touched me when we walked past him.PW: Where did he touch you?Me (pointing at he areas he touched): Here & here.PW: WHAT?!Me (nodded): Yes.PW: He tried to touch me just now but only managed to touch my hand, so I just brushed it off. I didn't know he molested you!!PW (grabbed my wrist & made a u-turn): Let's go & confront him!Reached the table & Peiwen asked me who molested me. I pointed to the guy (the same guy who touched her hand). She was very angry & started shouting at that guy.
PW: How dare you molest my friend!Guy: What? I didn't do anything!PW: Still trying to deny it?Guy (had a guilty look & tried to move away from us): What? I was drinking here all along. What did I do to your friend?Me: Why are you walking away? Guilty? You dared to molest yet you dare not admit what you did. You call yourself a man?Anyway I don't think he's even a man. He looked like he's younger than me!!
His friends came over, & asked what happened. We told them their friend molested me yet did not admit it. Of course, they tried to defend him, saying he was drunk & blah blah blah. Drunk, my foot!! He was obviously sober & didn't show any hint of getting drunk.
We wanted him to admit it, apologise to me & we would let the matter rest. But he refused to. We created such a commotion that we attracted lots of curious stares. Eventually, the bouncers came over & we were told to settle the matter outside Dbl O.
Fine. We stormed out angrily with him & his friends, plus Dan & some of his colleagues. We shouted at him again, like 2 ah lians trying to start a fight. Haha..
Anyway, he still refused to admit it. Heated words were exchanged among the guys. They almost broke into a fight when Peiwen & I stood between the 2 groups & tried to push them off. Just then, the police came. I wasn't sure if they were on patrol or the bouncers called for them.
Police: What's happening over here? Can you settle it among yourselves?PW: Yes sir, give us 5 minutes.Police: Ok.PW & I: Now will you admit it?Guy: Admit what? I didn't do anything!PW & I: Admit, apologise, & we promise not to blow up the matter. We'll let it rest.Guy: No.We gave him chance & he didn't want it. So we reported it to the police & let them settle it.
While waiting, 3 other girls went to the police & 2 of them said they were being molested. By the same guy. Now he's doomed. I have 2 more girls to back me up now.
Peiwen hugged me & cried suddenly. She kept apologising & said it was her fault that I got molested. I didn't blame her at all & it wasn't her fault. But she said that if she didn't insist I go clubbing with her, such a thing wouldn't happen.
It really, really wasn't her fault.
After all the troublesome procedures, we were told to go down to Tanglin Police Div HQ, on our own. Located at Kampong Java, but it seems like Jalan Ulu to me. Nothing but trees all around.
Took our statement, waited for this & that, we finally left at 5am. What an evening. Oh yeah, this creep turns out to be an army regular. He's doomed. Even if there isn't sufficient evidence to prove him guilty in a criminal case, I hope he gets kicked into DB (detention barrack - army's prison).

10 Oct 2007: What an "interesting" evening. Let me list the events that took place in chronological order:-
1) Went for a job interview at 6.30pm at Temasek Holdings, for the post of Treasury Operations Assistant.
Got this interview through an agency when I found this job posting in JobsDB. The job description stated that I'll have to "provide operations and admin support to the Treasury/Tax Team of 10 in areas such as reports, updating investment data, prepare Powerpoint presentations as well as ad-hoc secretarial support to team (travel arrangements)".
So I tried my luck by sending in my resume. The agent called & explained to me the job duties. I was told that I'll be doing "very minimal amount of secretarial/admin work". Which justifies why I agreed to the interview when I was granted it.
On the day of interview, this agent sent me an email on the details of this interview. When I read it, I felt cheated. I'll have to do 50% operations work & 50% secretarial/admin work. I was like, you call this "very minimal amount of secretarial work"?!
Popped by the agency during lunch for a briefing. It was then I realised her definition of "minimal secretarial work" is in comparison to the amount I'm doing now.
!@#$%^&*()
Was demoralised, but I went ahead with the interview to see how it goes. The office is located at
Atrium@Orchard & I had to rush there after work. Three interviewers to me. All females. One from HR, the other two were my prospective bosses.
The HR lady was nice. The other two, one had a very warm disposition, always smiling & the other one was fierce & cold & demanding. (Which is very typical in interviews. One plays the good guy & the other plays the bad guy.)
Then... They were describing the job scope to me. I was told that they are looking more of an admin assistant rather than treasury operations support. The only treasury stuff I'll have to do is to input trades & charting. Which sounds so much like my current job scope.
When I was giving my "piece", I told them frankly that I do not wish to do so much admin/secretarial work. (Ya obviously, else I wouldn't want to leave GIC!! It's such a conducive environment for part-time studies.) So they asked me to think about it, whether I'm willing to take up this job coz I'm required to do lots of admin work.
What's the point in leaving when I'll be doing almost exactly the same stuff as what I'm doing right now? Except that I'll get a higher pay lah.
2) Reached home & was lazing on the sofa, watching tv. Kah Hin smsed me suddenly, asking if I wanted to go Zouk. So ok lor, went with him.
On our way there, he said since I don't dance, let's not go to Zouk. We went Clarke Quay instead. While walking around Clarke Quay & enjoying the buzz there, we passed Haagen Dazs. Was craving for ice cream & we went in. Late night ice cream screams FAT, so we shared the ice cream. =P

Guess what. We went home after chatting + ice cream. A bit wu liao right. Haha..
3) Reached home. First thing I did was to shower of course. Then head to my bed. After showering, I felt so comfy & was already thinking of drifting into dreamland.
Then, as I opened the bathroom door, I SAW A COCKROACH RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM!! I couldn't scream for help as it was very late already. And I daren't step out of the bathroom.
No choice, I had to kill the cockroach myself. Threw bathroom slippers at it till it fainted. Then got my sis to clear the dead body. Yucks. Finally managed to clear the mess at 2am. Zzzzzz.

What's my blogging personality?
Chanced upon this after doing the previous test. So I thought it'll be pretty interesting to try out!!
| Your Blogging Type is Unique and Avant Garde |
You're a bit ... unusual. And so is your blog. You're impulsive, and you'll often post the first thing that pops in your head. Completely uncensored, you blog tends to shock... even though that's not your intent. You tend to change your blog often, experimenting with new designs and content. |
Yes my blog is really uncensored. I blog about anything & everything. Which explains why I disclose my blog address to very few people. I don't want the whole world to know the skeletons in my closet!! Haha..

How rare is my personality?
Saw this test in both Ping & Lindy's blog, so I decided to play with it as well. Heeee..
| Your Personality is Somewhat Rare (ENFP) |
Your personality type is enthusiastic, giving, cautious, and loyal.
Only about 8% of all people have your personality, including 9% of all women and 6% of all men You are Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. |
Yeah I'm quite perceiving. I sense things mostly through my eyes. Intuitive... Adrian once said he feels scared of me when I can predict what he's gonna say. Sounds scary huh? Haha..
How true this is? You determine. =P

LIFE SUCKS.Paid the second instalment of my degree programme last Friday. S$4,400. Feel so broke. My bank account is bleeding now.
Financial woes aside. They're just peanuts as compared to my working life. I am really really becoming an unmotivated employee. I no longer have the mood to work. I drag myself to office everyday. So depressed that I can cry uncontrollably anytime.
I'm not someone who only whines & does nothing about my current situation. I asked a colleague for more RA related work. I was told that there's nothing I can help out with coz they can cope. Either that or they don't have the time to teach me. What can I say? I sent out countless resumes from time to time. I glued myself in front of my PC for one whole day just to search for jobs. But I don't get a single response.
So in my opinion, there must be something to do with my resume. Well-meaning friends sent me their copies of resumes for reference. I spent time improving my resume. After which, I searched for jobs again with a glimmer of hope. But they proved futile & my hopes were dashed once again.
The cycle goes. I am very SICK. Very tired of everything. Plus, the secretary will be going on maternity leave pretty soon. 56 days to be precise. I have to cover her. For the 3 months, not only I have to continue submitting claims & doing all the usual shit, I have to juggle with her excessive workload as well. I have a hunch they'll drive me up the wall.
I'm not afraid of the workload. I'll take it as it comes. My only worry is school. My timetable is here, & during certain terms, I have classes from Monday to Friday which will commence at 6.30pm sharp. Those dates happen to coincide with her maternity leave. If I cannot finish my work before 6pm, how am I supposed to attend classes?
You might say I worry too much. But I know the situation best as I'd been through it. I have a strong urge to tender my resignation without having found a new job. But that'll be really stupid. I have to finance my studies thus I need the income.
The more I stay here, the more depressed I am. As my agony grows, I project a happier front. Why? Because I want to forget my misery temporarily. I live in self-delusion. I convince myself that I'm very satisfied with my life but I know it's untrue. Only close friends know what lies deep within me.
To add to my despondency, I had my heart broken recently. It was shattered into a million pieces. I knew this day would come, but what really hurts me was, "I do have feelings for you, but I don't like you enough." These words drove me to my grave. It felt as if a dagger had thrust deep into me & I fell to the ground. Still conscious but I was left bleeding alone. I just wouldn't die. I stayed alive enduring the torment.
The assailant fled & here I am, still waiting for someone to dial 995...

20 Sep 2007: Let me start off my post in a really cliche manner:
CONGRATULATIONS, NG NG!!
May you & your wife have a blissful marriage. (Not like Paul will be reading this post, but here's my heartfelt wishes to him & wife. Haha..)
Group pictureThe wedding dinner took place at Grand Hyatt on a Thursday evening. Yeah, gotta lug my cosmetics & stuff to the office. So heavy...
Cherie & I, cam whoring again..The whole event wasn't bad. Quite entertaining, but the food was below my expectations. It was quite late even before the dessert was served. I left some space in my stomach just for dessert coz it was my favourite - yam paste with gingko nuts. It ended up as a disappointment. The yam paste was clumpy, wasn't mixed well with the coconut milk & the worst part was, it was WAY too sweet.
Went home feeling dissatisfied with the dessert. =(

16 Sep 2007: Watched "Secret" with Katrina, Kat's younger sis, Jaimie, Sheryce, Cleave & Zhicheng. Been wanting to watch it very much. So excited!!
(OKAY, I get excited easily over the slightest things.)
People said I was dumb, coz the VCD/DVDs have already released yet I still went to the theatre. Whatever...
The show was NICE. Directed by Jay Chou, starring Jay Chou & Kwai Lun-Mei. His acting skills are still bad, but the story & plot are fantastic. It's not the kind of movie that I usually watch, coz I "hate" touching shows. I will start sobbing in the cinema & this time round, I cried too. Yeah, which is why I love action packed movies.
& the movie OST (yes, by Jay Chou again), 不能说的秘密, keeps playing in my head. Here's the music video if you don't know how it sounds like. Enjoy..

26 - 28 Aug 2007:Day 1: *Yawn* Woke up at 5am. Slept for 3+ hours. Felt groggy & it was made worse with my late night the previous day. Watched GIC subsidized movie The Bourne Ultimatum & loitered around Orchard when we finally went off. Was supposed to have supper but if I really joined them for supper, I would've gone home, shower, grab my luggage & head to the airport.
Was supposed to meet at 6.30am at T2 (to shop at DFS) but we changed the meeting time to 7am. I was the first to reach. Reason 1, I live nearest to the airport & reason 2, they couldn't wake up. Haha...
While waiting for the plane to take off
The airport is situated next to the beach!!We stayed in JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa. The hotel was very near the airport, & the journey took about 15mins or so. But the hotel was situated at an extremely
ulu place. So out of the way. There were nothing but bushes & trees surrounding it. We couldn't get out of the hotel & into the main road without transport as it was impossible to walk out. And..... It was a 1+hour journey from our hotel to Patong Beach/Phuket Town.
Reached the hotel. We were greeted with friendly hotel staff, a garland & a glass of refreshing lime juice. I wonder how they made their lime juice. It was the BEST I've ever had.
Lovely refreshing lime juice
The garland
Cute turtle!!
Lobby - Part 1
Lobby - Part 2
View in front of the lobbyHad 1 room each. We thought it was a single room, but it was a twin room. The room was big. But we didn't have the chance to utilise everything in the room coz we were out all day!!
Bathroom
Bathroom overlooking the bedroom
The HUMONGOUS bed!!
Relaxing corner of the room
View from outside Ling jie's roomNothing to do at the hotel, thus we got a mini van & ventured into Phuket Town. Thanks to our team leader, Brokeback Chua. Hurray!!
Looks like Hard Rock Cafe eh?
Patong BeachThings at Patong area aren't cheap. We walked for quite sometime before we found a place to have lunch. So hungrrrrrry.
Lunch venue: 3 Spices
Interior of the restaurant
My lunch: Green curry with riceThere's so much to walk, to look, to see. But so little to shop. & I have so much Thai Baht left now. =(
It'll be really happening at night
Reminds me of Hong Kong
Open massage area at Jungceylon Shopping Mall.
Pretty disgusting. Everyone watches as you are
getting your massage. Eeewwww..
Outside another shopping mall next to Jungceylon.
Can't remember the name though.Saw Dunkin' Donuts & I bought one box for my family!! Bought a lot of munkins as my mum loves it. =P
So now, what's next? Back to the hotel for dinner at Ginja Restaurant, located at another end of the hotel. Took some pictures while waiting because yeah, I had nothing better to do. Haha..
Outside Ginja
While waiting for dinner to be served
SunsetHere comes the dinner...
Clockwise from bottom right: Mee Grob, Phopia Pak,
Sai Grog Isan Yang, Goong Hom Sabai, Satay Gai.
Tom Kha Gai
Geang Phed Ped Yang
Coconut flavored sticky rice with Thai sweet mangoJW Marriott may be a 5-star hotel, but the food at Ginja is, I would say, cannot make it. It isn't inedible, but it's not what I would expect of such restaurant. The Geang Phed Ped Yang (red curry) tastes so weird. They have fruits like lychee & grapes in it. I mean, it's just so weird right. To have fruits in the curry. *Rolls my eyes*
Walked back to our rooms after dinner. But before I went back to my room, we went to Serene's room, just for the fun of it. Yeah we were so bored over there.
Princesses of Phuket
What were we looking at?
SawadeekapBack to our respective rooms & zzzzzzz...
Day 2: Rise & shine!! Woke up at 6am, met the ladies for breakfast at Marriott Cafe at 7am.
Forget about the food & say "cheese"!!Felt quite fresh, but didn't really sleep well coz I kept waking up in the middle of the night. Not like I wasn't used to the bed/environment (I can sleep anywhere & everywhere), but because I didn't switch off all lights in the room, & I kept thinking I overslept.
My breakfast. Yes, I didn't eat much.
Disgusting looking waffle created by yours truly.
Notice the muffins in the background? =PHad to assemble at the lobby at 8.45am. So after breakfast, we went round taking pictures.
Me at the children's poolside. Couldn't wait to jump in.
Ms Pee showing off her...... erm butt. Haha..
Assembling at the lobbyDay 2 was teambuilding activity for us. We learnt how to sail. Pretty exciting eh? As an indoor person, I thought I would dread the idea of getting soaked in the sun. Never did I expect myself to look forward to it.
Gearing up
Listening attentively for instructionsWe were divided into 4 teams: 2 active & 2 passive teams. The difference lies in the type of sail. They described them as Ferrari (active) & Honda (passive). Now you get the idea.
Travelling to the sail
The active teamWas grouped together with Winnie, Jojo, Serene, Sei Wei, Brokeback Chua (Wee Thia) & Raymond. Without any doubt, I did what I've always enjoyed - making fun of Brokeback Chua.
StunningWent on the sail, dumped our things inside & out we go, on the deck. The weather was good (read: the sun was scorching). I applied lots of sunblock thus I didn't burn. But I got much tanner. Gone is my fair skin. When will I ever regain my fairness again? =(
Learnt how to jibe & steer the sail. Teamwork is crucial when jibing, as you need lots of coordination from both sides of the sail. Plus you need to steer the sail correctly.
Brokeback Chua: Ladies & gentlemen!! Jaye is
steering the sail (in the background) now.
Please hang on to your dear lives!!Learnt some technicalities about sailing. Basically, you need to jibe when the wind changes its direction, or when you want to alter the course of the sail. The wind might not be in favour of the direction that you want to go. When this happens, you have to steer to a certain angle, then jibing starts.
The process of jibingJibing ensures that both the fore & aft sails are in the proper position so you can sail smoothly. When the fore sail is loosen, the aft sail is tightened, & vice versa.
As for steering, it's kind of profound. If you want the sail to head towards the right, you have to steer to the left, & vice versa. It's is very sensitive. One slight move & you will cause the sail to steer a lot. Quite stressful to steer. Haha..
David showing me the steering direction
Serene learning how to steer while I was..... deep
in thoughts?
Learning to tie different types of knots
Relaxing at the deck
Sei Wei: Hey Jaye, didn't you comb your hair this
morning?
2 songs to describe this picture:
I'm Like A Bird (Nelly Furtado)
Flying Without Wings (Westlife)Stopped at Ko Bon for lunch, & I was bullied!! We had fried rice & a few other dishes to share. When there were some food left, everyone looked at me & said, "Jaye, finish them."
Of course, I gave the most Jaye-ish reply, "Huh? Why me? Thanks, but I'm on a diet." What I got back was, "No such thing as diet. You are the youngest here, so you HAVE to eat more."
Haha what crap is this?
The beach at Ko Bon is gorgeous as well...
Looks too pretty to be real, but it's REAL!!
J-A-Y-E
Too PETITE to climb onto the rock. Haha!!
Please don't do it here. There's always a toilet somewhere.Back to the sail after lunch...
Brokeback Chua re-enacting the scene in Titanic
Don't you wish you have a glass of martini right now?
Hunky Brokeback Chua & I
Group picture of our sailing team
Hey, that's a cow!!After sailing was dinner!! I was famished. Went Rockfish, & it's the number one restaurant in Phuket.
Welcome to RockfishWell, I can say they really live up to their reputation. The restaurant isn't humongous. We booked the whole restaurant & it fitted all of us exactly.
Guess what dumb thing I did. While waiting for the restaurant staff to prepare the tables for us, we ordered drinks. & I ordered Heineken. How smart right. Drink with an empty stomach. Slightly more than half a glass & I couldn't make it already (which usually isn't the case).
The leftover beerI thought I'm really good at acting sober. When I knew I was going to be drunk, I stopped drinking (serves me right for drinking with an empty stomach). I care for my image a lot & of course I didn't make a fool of myself. I was composed, joined in my colleagues' conversation & acted normal (though my head was spinning slightly). I was amazed by myself. Haha..
Look at the beach... Serene saw "those things" while having dinner, when the beach was nothing but a pitch of darkness. She only told us about it when we came back so as to not alarm us. I remember looking out at the beach many times throughout dinner, but luckily, I didn't see anything. Haha..
While waiting for dinner to start... The guys played
soccer (Yes, my boss brought a football along!!)Dinner served...
Entrée: Seared white prawn & avocado tart with
spicy tomato relish, basil pesto & watercress served
with a balsamic dressing
Main: Tuna marinated with chili paste served pink
with a Thai herb salad, white prawn, fresh coconut
juice vinaigrette & a yogurt dipping sauce
Dessert: Yummy chocolate fudge cake
with vanilla ice creamFelt so sticky after a day's sailing & I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel & have a hot shower. Plus soak in the bathtub. So relaxing. Most of them went to Phuket Town for massage. I hate to give it a miss, but no choice. I was too sticky & uncomfortable. =(
Zzzzzzzzz...
Day 3: The day to go home. Was supposed to wake up at 6am, get ready & meet them for breakfast at 7am. & this brilliant sleepyhead Jieyin turned off the alarm when it sounded. So this brilliant Jieyin overselpt & woke up at...... 7am!! Luckily I took the later flight home. Else I would most probably miss it!!
Made a mad rush & I managed to get ready by 7.30am. Phew, I packed my luggage the night before. When I reached Marriott Cafe, Winnie & Serene (who took the earlier flight) were gone!!
My breakfastWent swimming with Ling jie. Ya I know I know. I know what you people will think: JIEYIN KNOWS HOW TO SWIM MEH? Yes yes yes, I don't know how to swim. I was there at the children's pool to play with the slide. HAPPY? Haha..
Going down...
It's slippery!!!
Ling jie going up the stairs.....
And all the way down!!The slide is really fun. So fun that we couldn't stop playing. =P Yes, we attracted lots of curious from people. Who cares. Hah!
Yes, taking self-portrait again. -_-Went back to hotel room to shower after our swim. Checked out. Nua-ed at the lobby for awhile when Ling jie & I joined the PMs/analysts for lunch at Siam Deli Shop. Guess what my lunch was......
Mushroom quiche!!Amazingly, this little mushroom quiche lasted me till 8+pm!! I skipped my meal onboard coz I was so tired that I wanted to do nothing but sleep.
Ling jie's Thai-style burger. HUGE.The yummy stuff available at Siam Deli Shop:
Pretzels
Pastries
DonutsLook at the picture below!! Can you make out the picture on the icing sugar? It's the logo of JW Marriott Phuket.
Yes it's a turtle. Cute right? =PI've heard speculations that Phuket Airport will be as boring & pathetic as Krabi's. Haha wrong!! It's got Dunkin' Donuts there (yes of course I bought) & DFS.
DFS at Phuket Airport
Waiting area after check-inCRAP!! I forgot to take pictures of the Dunkin' Donuts outlet at airport!! Arrrgggghhh.. Yes, the result of being so obsessed with the donuts. =(
Becky & I, waiting for the plane to take offMaybe I should wear my specs with taking this picture with Becky. Coz mine is so similar!! Haha..
Reached Singapore finally, & after a deep sleep throughout the flight. Ken picked me up at the airport & he had to wait for 1+hr for me coz I was shopping inside!! Horrible right. Hey, don't be mistaken. He ain't that nice ok. He was there to pick up his donuts & not me. Wahahahaha.. =P
